Vikings Baseball Split Series 2-2 with MSC

Game 1: CASC 7, MSC 1

Carl Albert State College cruised to an easy victory over Murray State College 7-1 on Thursday. CASC got things moving in the second inning, when James Irwin was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. The Vikings then tallied three runs in the sixth inning with a Dylan DeButy RBI double.

  • Riley Lowry took the win for Carl Albert State College as the lefthander lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out eight. Ethan Trivitt threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
  • CASC totaled 12 hits in the game; Mac Moody, Jake Melton, and Jon Shaffer each managed multiple hits.
  • Moody led the Vikings with three hits in five at bats and DeButy led the team with 3 RBI's

Game 2: MSC 13, CASC 9

Carl Albert State College out-hit Murray State College twelve to nine, but it wasn't enough in a 13-9 loss on Thursday.

  • Mac Moody went 3 for 5 from the plate including a homerun.
  • Daylan Whitley led CASC with 3 RBI's on the day.

Game 1: CASC 6, MSC 0

Alex Gonzalez was the winning pitcher and threw a 3-hit shutout to lead Carl Albert State College past Murray State College 6-0 on Saturday in Game #1. CASC got on the board in the second inning when Dylan Debuty hit a solo homer. The Vikings then notched three runs in a big sixth inning was driven by a single by Mac Moody and a groundout by Dylan Clark.

  • Carl Albert State College tallied 11 hits; Moody, Blake Chambers, and Jon Shaffer all collected multiple hits.
  • Moody went 3-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBI's to lead CASC in hits.

Game 2: MSC 11 CASC 6

Carl Albert State College fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-6 loss to Murray State College on Saturday in Game #2. 

  • CASC's Mac Moody drove in four runners in the loss with 2 homeruns; Breck Burris and Dylan Clark both had solo shots in the ninth inning.
  • The Vikings Varsity tallied ten hits. Blake Chambers collected multiple hits and Moody went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
