CASC Baseball Stalls the Jets in Enid!

Game 1: CASC 7, NOC-Enid 6

Carl Albert State College got out to a five-run lead in the seventh inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on Wednesday in Game 1 as the Jets scored four runs on a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning. CASC got things started in the second inning when Dylan Clark doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. The Vikings then notched three runs in the fifth inning as Jon Shaffer and Daylan Whitley collected RBI's.

  • Riley Lowry led Carl Albert State College to victory on the pitcher's mound allowing six hits and two runs over five and two-thirds innings, while striking out six. Justice Hayes threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. 
  • CASC racked up 11 hits. Mac Moody and Whitley both managed multiple hits and Shaffer went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI's at the plate to lead the Vikings.

Game 2: CASC 20, NOC-Enid 9

Jake Melton wasted no opportunities at the plate on Wednesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Carl Albert State College past Northern Oklahoma College-Enid 20-9 on Wednesday in Game 2. Melton drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the sixth, and a single in the seventh. Bats blistered as CASC collected 15 hits and NOC-Enid tallied ten in the high-scoring game. The Vikings got on the board in the first inning when Jon Shaffer singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Carl Albert State College put up six runs in the seventh inning with batters contributing to the big inning including Dylan Debuty, Melton, Daylan Whitley, Jaret Johnson, Mac Moody, and Dylan Clark, all driving in runs in the frame.

  • Matt Floyd started the game for CASC and went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits. Ethan Trivitt was the winning pitcher for CASC and lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out five and walking one.
  • The Vikings launched two home runs on the day by Johnson in the fourth inning and Moody in the sixth inning. 
  • Carl Albert State College racked up 15 hits in the game. Clark, Moody, Blake Chambers, and Shaffer all managed multiple hits for CASC. Melton and Johnson both had three hits to lead the Vikings.
