Vikings Baseball Holds off the Cowboys

Carl Albert State College got out to an eight-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 14-12 victory over Connors State College on Tuesday. Mac Moody collected four hits in six at bats to help lead the Vikings to victory as he homered in the first, doubled in the second, homered in the third, and singled in the eighth. CASC knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning when Dylan Debuty's sac fly scored one run and in the second Moody doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. The Vikings notched seven runs in the third inning as Debuty, Breck Burris, and Moody all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. The Cowboys answered scoring five runs in the fifth inning. The right hander Jon Shaffer started the game for Carl Albert State College and Riley Lowry was credited with the victory lasting four innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out eight and walking zero. Matt Floyd and Justice Hayes entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Moody had a four bagger in the first and third innings and Debuty went deep in the third inning for the Vikings. CASC racked up 17 hits in the game and Moody, Dylan Clark, Burris, Shaffer, Daylan Whitley, and Debuty each had multiple hits. Connors State College scattered 13 hits in the game.
